THE COLLECTION WELCOMES THE McLAREN P1™ GTR

THE COLLECTION was the first dealership to reveal the all-new McLaren 570S, the first model of the Sports Series. Guests flowed into THE COLLECTION and witnessed a full dosage of McLaren greatness as the 570S spun in the showroom for all to see.

Following the exciting 570S reveal, we received the ever-so-sleek track weapon: the McLAREN P1™ GTR. Regarded as the ultimate track focused driver’s car, the name alone suggests how significant the car is – the first McLaren to use the GTR moniker was the McLaren F1 GTR that won the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours.

For two days only, McLaren enthusiasts were welcomed to witness the super car itself for VIP private viewings. Guests enjoyed delectable bites and had the chance to experience the McLaren P1 GTR from a once in a lifetime view.

Without the road-car regulation to hold it back, the McLaren P1™ GTR pushes everything to the limit. The mid-mounted power plant has an output of 1,000 PS (986 BHP)  and includes an ERS-style push-to-pass system. The large fixed rear wing features a Formula 1™- derived Drag Reduction System and the wing mirrors have been repositioned to the A pillars to put them closer to the eye line of the driver and reduce aerodynamic drag.

The supercar sits at a fixed ride height on race-prepared suspension over 19-inch motorsport alloy wheels. Below the rear wing is the exposed, centrally mounted Inconel and titanium alloy exhaust. The all-new straight cut twin pipe design has been exclusively developed for the GTR.

The green and yellow livery of this P1 GTR is a reference to the firm’s F1 GTR Le Mans racing car, of which five examples dominated the 24-hour race on their debut 20 years ago. The striking colour scheme will be available to the 35 buyers alongside the carbon black paintwork we saw on the design concept.

The interior is just as hardcore, with some very serious-looking DTM-style seats and race harnesses. The digital steering wheel is a special bit of kit: it’s based on the 2008 F1 car’s item, the one that Lewis Hamilton used to win the driver’s championship. So it’s as close as you can get to being one of McLaren’s F1 drivers.
