Make-A-Wish Ball 2013

It’s wish-making time! Yes, with one of my personally favorite events, the 19th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish-Ball, taking place this past Saturday, it is safe to say that the “season” in Miami has officially begun. So exciting! Even more thrilling is the notion THE COLLECTION helped grant the heartfelt wishes of 18 children with life-threatening medical conditions.

How so? THE COLLECTION donated the all-new 2014 brazenly blue (yet to be released) Maserati Ghiblli as a silent auction item. As one of the most sought-after items, the Italian luxury sedan sold for $92,000 dollars — a number well above its list price, which is truly admirable. I am certain its new generous owner will relish the Maserati Ghibli’s unique combination of style, sporty handling and comfort, designed to make driving a special car an everyday sensation.

This is our sixteenth year participating in the Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish-Ball, and it just keeps getting better and better. Notable moments of the “A Magic Night” themed evening included actress Gabrielle Anwar’s return as the celebrity auctioneer and a stellar performance by Grammy-nominated singer Adam Lambert.

But the highlight for me, as in year’s past, is the reality that this year’s Ball raised $2 million for a phenomenal cause — Make-A-Wish Southern Florida — which works tirelessly to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Now that’s real-life magic.
