Every one has a wish, right? And one of my most favorite philanthropic endeavors is being a sponsor of the Make-A-Wish foundation. Here’s a little backgrounder on the amazing organization:
Make-A-Wish serves a unique and vital role in helping strengthen and empower children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Their moda operandi? To grant the wishes of these children which encompass one of the following four questions:
I wish to be…
I wish to go…
I wish to have…
I wish to meet…
With this said, the Southern Florida chapter grants more than 500 wishes each year, which is a wish every 16 hours! From gifting children computers to custom surfboards to traveling to Alaska to reporting from the Miami Heat’s courts — the Make-A-Wish foundation lifts the spirits of so many children and their families.
From a personal standpoint, my years of donating wishes to this organization remains near and dear to my heart. Simply said, assisting children with life-threatening medical conditions gives me a profound sense of gratitude and genuine happiness when wishes are granted.
And you can help, too. How so? You can donate funds, fundraise, or like myself, sponsor the cause by going here: http://sfla.wish.org/ways-to-help
