GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW 2015

Cars, cars and more cars! Not just any cars, but the latest models from the best manufacturers were presented at the Geneva International Motor Show.

This year, I had the privilege and honor to introduce none other than the brand new Aston Martin DBX. This supercar is an all-electric, all-wheel-drive sleek vehicle with striking exterior details, accented by its Black Pearl Chromium paint finish.

Aston Martin is not solely exploring design with the DBX, it’s also demonstrating the unity between opulence and practicality. The interior can comfortably fit four passengers as well as their luggage. The sleek Nubuck leather contrasts the innovative technology incorporated throughout the cabin. Aston Martin enthusiasts, prepare because the future is bright for this brand.

Aside from the DBX, some of THE COLLECTION’s luxurious brands presented their all-new lineups:

ASTON MARTIN VULCAN

This car certainly made heads turn. This track-only Vulcan adds to the racing line of Aston Martins. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive Vulcan is made entirely of carbon fiber and packs a massive 7.0-liter, V-12 engine that powers more than 800 horsepower. Likely to hit the track in 2016, the Vulcan definitely established a new generation of what sports cars will look like.

ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE GT3

Sitting right between the Vantage and the Vantage Racer is none other than the Vantage GT3. The changes outside include a new aero kit that includes a vast wing and diffuser at the rear, flared front wings and a new front splitter, side skirts, and bonnet vents made of carbon fiber. The setup is said to produce as much as seven times the downforce as produced by the standard V12 Vantage S, the car it is based on. At the heart of the GT3 sits the naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine. Performance figures are yet to be finalized, but early tests show two-tenths have been cut from the 0-62 mph time, taking it to a quick 3.5 seconds.

FERRARI 488 GTB

Turbocharged. The 488 GTB has a new engine and a brand new look, both derived from the latest in F1 racing technology. This coupe is the replacement for the 458 Italia, making it considerably lighter and more powerful than its predecessor. The 488 GTB has a 670 hp rear-placed V8 engine and a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of three seconds flat with a top speed of 205 mph. Fast and sleek.

PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS

Power and strength describe the new 911 GT3 RS perfectly. With high anticipation for the introduction of this car, Geneva was the perfect place to seal its reveal. Power comes from a newly developed flat-six 4.0-liter naturally aspired engine developing 500 hp, which enables the 911 GT3 RS to hit 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and 124 mph in 10.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of more than 200 mph. The interior cabin adopts a familiar look but with a white rev counter, body-colored upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard and door panels.

PORSCHE CAYMAN GT4

Rebels, race on, there’s a new Cayman in town. This is the first Porsche GT sports car based on the Cayman and features components of the 911 GT3. Clocking a lap time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds on the North Loop of the Nürburgring, the Cayman GT4 earns the same lap time as the 2011 911 GT3 and positions itself as the new benchmark atop its market segment. Wait for it, its arriving soon.

AUDI R8 V-10, AUDI R8 V-10 PLUS, AUDI R8 E-TRON

From the outside, the new R8 may look like its older model, but under the cover is an all-new chassis that is 100 pounds lighter than before, using an extensive amount of aluminum and carbon fiber. The standard V-10 equipped model features a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 engine mounted behind the passengers, making 540 horsepower and good for a 3.5-second 0 to 60 mph time. Also available is a step up to the R8 V-10 Plus model which gets jolted up to 610 hp while that 0 to 60 time drops to just 3.2-seconds with a top speed of 205 mph, making it the fastest production Audi ever made. Both cars deliver power through a permanent all-wheel-drive Quattro system, which is able to send 100 percent of available torque to either the front or rear axle as needed.

For the more environmentally conscious, the new R8 E-tron is an electric version of the R8 supercar. Boasting a 227 hp electric motor, the e-tron has a range of 280 miles on one charge. The R8 e-tron will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

AUDI R8 LMS

Drivers prepare because the Audi R8 LMS is here! Designed to be safer and lighter than ever before, the R8 LMS has updated racecar technology and aerodynamics. Power comes from the same V-10 engine as the R8 V-10 and V-10 Plus. The engine of this machine displaces 5.2 liters and produces approximately 585 horsepower. A new track showstopper.

AUDI PROLOGUE AVANT CONCEPT

The future of Audi was introduced. This Prologue Avant features four traditional doors plus a fifth door at the rear and an increased powertrain. Contrary to past Prologue’s, this one featured a diesel-based plug-in hybrid setup similar to the new (debuting soon) Q7 e-tron quattro. At 16.7 feet in length, 6.5 ft in width and 4.6 ft in height, the Prologue Avant is marginally longer, wider and higher than the Prologue coupe. The wheelbase is unchanged at 10 feet and all three Prologues ride on 22-inch wheels.

McLAREN 675LT

With a clear focus on performance, lightweight and ultimate levels of driver engagement, the 675LT weighs 220 pounds less than the 650S making this two-seater the lightest car in its class and the most track-focused, street-legal model in the McLaren lineup. The sprint from 0-62 mph takes just 2.9 seconds, with controlled torque delivery ensuring optimized traction off the line and a top speed of 205 mph.
