here’s a first time for everything, right? Right. For the first time in history, the Finali Mondiali (also known as Ferrari World Finals) took place in the U.S. — at the Daytona International Speedway to be exact. The even better news for those of us residing in sunny Florida? THE COLLECTION team was fortunate enough to take part in the adrenaline-pumping fun.
For those of you not-in-the-know, the brings together competitors from the European, North American and Asia Pacific series of the Ferrari Challenge to battle for the World Championship on Daytona’s legendary 3.56-mile course. THE COLLECTION’s race team consisted of drivers Greg Romanelli (#238), Arthur Romanelli (#233), Alex Menzel (#323) and D. Mancinelli (#238). Great job, team! The four-day celebration of all things Ferrari took place Dec. 1st through the 4th, which happened to be world-renowned Art Basel weekend as well.
Which leads me to my next point. Prior to the Finali Mondiali, an art-centric kick-off took place in Miami. The private, invite-only cocktail and dinner reception took place at Gary Nader Fine Arts Gallery where guests were encouraged to soak in the sights of stunning private artworks. The soiree’s attendees included C.E.O of Ferrari North America, Edwin Fenech, as well as Marketing Director Arrick Maurice and Consul Generale d’Italia Gloria Marina Bellelli.
And let’s just say the night took a turn for the totally awesome after the desserts were served. Much to everyone’s surprise, one of THE COLLECTION’s very own 458 Challenge Cars made a shocking debut as it drove into the event, debuting a custom paint job by artist Tyler Ramsey, who personally welcomed the vehicle to the event. The car, complete with the custom artwork, was transported overnight to the track at Daytona International Speedway and arrived just in the knick of time for testing and racing for the Finali Mondiali, where it was the center of attention, naturally. “We love our partners that’s for sure”- Ken Gorin CEO Collection
