Porsche enthusiasts made their way to the track on October 8th-10th to experience a day filled with thrills and excitement. The 2015 Porsche World Roadshow took over the Homestead-Miami Speedway for a driving event that is designed to give drivers the unique opportunity to drive a large sampling of Porsche models in a variety of challenging exercises that demonstrate the vehicles’ race-bred capabilities.
The experience did not disappoint. Porsche brought vehicles spanning most of the model range, accompanied by the specially trained and highly skilled Porsche Sport Driving School – USA instructors. All of the instructors were top professional drivers who are certified by Porsche.
At the Roadshow, guests experienced the full potential of the 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera GTS, Cayman S, Cayman GTS, Panamera S, and Panamera GTS, in various high-performance exercises such as handling, braking and on-track driving. They also witnessed first-hand 100% capability of the Panamera Turbo by riding as a passenger in a hot lap around the track with a PSDS instructor.
Following the light bites offered in the indoor lounge, the Porsche World Roadshow was separated into three different sections for drivers to experience the excitement that never fades.
Lead/Follow
The ultimate thrill. Instructors paced the participant around the challenging track-type layout in a Porsche 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrerra GTS, Cayman S, and Cayman GTS. Track laps were performed in a lead-follow format and were designed to give every participant a chance to follow directly behind the instructor. Speeds gradually increased as drivers became more comfortable with the driving line.
Autocross
This scaled down racetrack experience created a series of corners that demonstrated the true ability of a Porsche – handling, braking, and acceleration. The Autocross allowed the participants to drive the Panamera GTS as it is meant to be driven. Followed by this, an engaged timed autocross competition then immersed drivers in the full potential of the Panamera S.
Hot Laps
At the end of each session, participants rode-along on the track with a certified Porsche Sport Driving School instructor in the Panamera Turbo. As a passenger in the sports sedan, guests witnessed first-hand 100% of the Panamera Turbo vehicle’s potential.
It was an amazing three days and it was great to have the Porsche World Roadshow back in Miami since 2013. Hopefully next year the thrill will return to the track for our clients to enjoy the exercises that demonstrate the full potential of Porsche cars!
