This mid-engined model kept its characteristically low and central center of gravity to keep its agility. To increase power, the new 718 was given newly developed four-cylinder turbocharged engines with the customary Porsche horizontally opposed arrangement. This means that acceleration is tremendous, sure enough to give the driver an adrenaline rush. Its design was changed from interior to exterior giving it sporty, distinctive edges and clearly defined formal contours on the outside while being fully geared for sporty performance on the inside. The typical Porsche sound got more intense with the optional sport exhaust system for a more thrilling ride.
