Love is in the air, Miami. No, I’m not talking about Valentine’s Day — I’m touching upon the Miami Open tennis matches which take place right in our own backyard at the Crandon Park Tennis Center on Key Biscayne from March 19th to April 1st 2018.
Since its inception in 1985, the tournament brings in the tennis greats such as Venus and Serena Williams, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, Monica Seles, Steffi Graf, Chris Evert, Jim Courier, Andy Roddick, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Martina Hingis and more. And year after year, the sold-out tournament is the place-to-be with over 300,000 visitors attending.
So what’s in it for the winners? With more than $13 million in prize money — equally distributed to the men and women — and all of the top players and media from all corners of the world covering the action every day, the Miami Open has earned its place in the world as one of the world’s largest tennis events, surpassed only by the Grand Slams.
Last year, the 2017 singles winners were Johanna Konta and Roger Federer. For this year’s complete player list, simply browse over to here: http://miamiopen.com/2018-player-list.
