Comedians in Miami 2014
As one of Florida’s major metropolises, it’s a major tour destination for the kings and queens of guffaws, chuckles, dismay and comedic mayhem. In 2014, Miami is hosting some major acts at its biggest and smallest entertainment centers, casinos and improv clubs. Most notably, Katt Williams has a destination in Miami as he revives his career after hiatus and even Whoop Goldberg will be making an appearance. These are just a few of the famous funny faces to expect in Miami comedy entertainment for 2014.

Katt Williams – January 18th @ James L. Knight Center, Miami

Katt Williams is coming back with his all new tour Growth Spurt. He has planned dates across the national landscape but will make an appearance on January 18th at the James L. Knight Center, one of the major entertainment complexes for South Florida. While the controversial comedian has gotten into a few legal scuffles and on-stage meltdowns in the past, he’s gone through some personal growth to develop all new material, fresh stories and the all-too-truthful tidbits that make Katt an incredible comedic performer. He told the Las Vegas Review Journal of his new comeback tour, “If I can discuss the government shutdown I can certainly discuss my own.”

Jo Koy – January 18th @ Stage 305 in the Magic City Casino, Miami

With recent tours across college circuits, Jo Koy is a nationally known young American stand-up comedian who got his start on The Adam Carolla Show and Chelsea Lately. He grew more famous after his appearance in “Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza!” and his own special “Comedy Central Presents: Joy Koy.” He’s well known for his impressions of P.F. Chang’s greeter and other racial stereotypes. Koy is of Filipino and European American descent. His appearance at Stage 305 will be an outrageous bit that is guaranteed to make your sides split.

Jay Leno – February 8th @ Kravis Center, West Palm Beach

America’s late night host Jay Leno has been on TV for more than two decades as the host of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. However, he started out as a stand-up comedian. His family-friendly comedy is coming to the Miami area for one performance only at the Kravis Center.

Jeff Ross – February 13th @ Palm Beach Improv, West Palm Beach

Jeff Ross is often featured on Comedy Central. He’s an actor, director, producer and writer, but mainly, he’s a comedian from New Jersey. He starred in his own show The Burn with Jeff Ross on Comedy Central, and he’s been featured on several roasts by Comedy Central including the recent roast of James Franco. In his latest special, Jeff Ross Roasts America, Jeff takes on the United States and Canada by traveling to different parts of the country and getting as honest as he can with the locals.

Lewis Black – February 14th @ The Fillmore, Miami Beach

The king of mean Lewis Black is back to perform at The Fillmore in Miami Beach. His latest tour “The Rant is Due” will go over the same political topics, social welfare setbacks, cheek shaking, hair pulling and raving mad stories that made people love Lewis Black in the first place. As a Grammy award-winning comedian, he’s become one of the most popular stand-up political comedians in recent years. His anger and “disillusion” humor have made his audiences keel over from laughter while at times being completely absurd. “Hallelujah, our long national nightmare is over. Now we face a fiscal cliff. Sounds like an event from the X games. Here’s hoping both parties start talking to each other and stop talking to us,” says Lewis Black during one of his latest appearances.

Amy Schumer – February 18th @ The Adrienne Arsht Center, Miami

She’s known as the hot blonde of Comedy Central with a knack for uncomfortable, edgy comedy. Amy Schumer is headed to Miami with her latest “Back Door Tour” scheduled for February 18th at 8:00 PM. You may know Amy from her show “Inside Amy,” which was a recent addition to Comedy Central as well as her stand-up special “Mostly Sex Stuff.” Her special got her the most fame becoming Comedy Central’s 2nd highest rated special for 2013. She was also one of the comedians to present on Comedy Central’s Roast of Roseanne Barr. Amy never disappoints when it comes to sex humor and things that you’d never expect a blonde bombshell to get away with on television.

Whoopi Goldberg – March 1st @ The Adrienne Arsht Center, Miami

There’s no question that Whoopi’s return to the limelight will likely be an outrageous, laugh-out-loud affair at the Adrienne Arsht Center in 2014. Whoopi is undoubtedly one of the most famous female stand-up comedians. Her wit and clever jokes continue to entertain audiences on “The View,” but audiences should expect a more candid and controversial Whoopi who has always had a talent for impressions, funny stories and outlandish but true anecdotes.

Joan Rivers – March 13th @ Kravis Center, West Palm Beach

If you love The Fashion Police, then you’re probably a fan of Joan Rivers. She’s one of the oldest female comedians, and she’s got the face to prove it. She’ll be performing live with uncensored and elicit stand-up comedy routine at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.

Chelsea Handler – April 4th @ The Fillmore, Miami Beach

Arguably the most famous female comedian with one of the most popular late night shows Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Handler will be taking her new stand-up national tour to Miami Beach in 2014. Chelsea recently released her latest book Uganda Be Kidding Me, which is a collection of essays in which she shares some stories from the road while also giving some rather outrageous tips for hot spots, etiquette and memorable destinations. Chelsea’s “Uganda Be Kidding Me” Tour guarantees to showcase her in-your-face antics and a lot of things you never wanted to know about Chuy.
