Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and InterContinental Miami celebrated the 23rd Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball on Saturday, November 4, 2017. This fantasy, art and music inspired gala, “Mystical Music Box” hosted over 900 guests and was headlined by multi-platinum-selling artist Lenny Kravitz. This year’s event was presented by the Makarov Foundation and the Finker-Frenkel Legacy Foundation, with a special performance by Alisan Porter, winner of NBC’s The Voice 2016, who returned for the second year.
The night started off with a BANG! As guests were greeted at the valet with a display of THE COLLECTION’s stunning Porsche Panamera. At the red carpet, guests posed for photos and interacted with mannequins dressed in black and white ruffled egg-shaped mini dresses posing in shadow boxes, along with a six-foot statue by artist Romero Britto.
At the extravagant cocktail reception on the hotel’s mezzanine, guests enjoyed drinks and culinary specialties at the gourmet stations and were treated to a cigar-rolling station. THE COLLECTION’s Porsche 911 Targa GTS and 911 Turbo S stole the show as Porsche Global Ambassadors gave guests the insight on these show stopping vehicles. The Ball’s famed auction, offered hundreds of premier items and experiences including five weekend loans from THE COLLECTION Porsche. In what has become a Ball tradition, a procession guided guests to the Grand Ballroom and were greeted by THE COLLECTION’s Porsche Cayman followed by dinner and an unforgettable performance by the legendary rock star Lenny Kravitz.
In its 23-year history, the InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball has raised more than $23.3 million, granting the wishes of more than 4,300 children from South Florida.
Aside from being one of the most anticipated events of the year, this particular charity holds an extremely special place in my heart. Make-A-Wish grants wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions which, in turn, makes life a lot better for these children battling for their lives and I am so delighted that THE COLLECTION has helped and is part of this amazing organization.
