While the rest of the U.S. braved extreme snow and freezing temperatures this past weekend, South Florida experienced an extremely “cool” event. How so? On Saturday, January 23rd, the Jackson Health Foundation’s Golden Angel Gala took place at Soho Studios where the theme was fittingly “Something Cool is happening at Jackson.” And something cool indeed was happening at the hip Wynwood-based space — minus the frigid weather enveloping our neighboring states.
Every year, 200 community leaders, movers and shakers attend the Golden Angels Gala with a willingness and commitment to help support the Jackson Health Foundation. The event is so popular that it often sells out before invitations are even mailed. Participants typically purchase tables at the $10,000 and $25,000 levels and attendance is always overwhelming.
This year’s theme? Think Winter Wonderland. Soho Studios was transformed into a virtual glacial playground. Hues of blues and whites, faux icicles and snow, ladies swathed in toasty furs, arctic igloos brimming with Cold Stone Creamery ice cream, snow globes and more exuded quintessentially wintry vibes. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, dinner, drinks and dancing — and a stellar raffle lineup.
Seeing as giving back to our local community is tantamount at THE COLLECTION, we offered one of the most talked about raffle items at the affair: the choice between winning a 2016 Audi Q5 (with a MSRP of $49,325) or a 2016 Audi A5 (with a MSRP of $51,990). With all 73 raffles tickets sold, we were able to raise $73,000 for Jackson Health System. With this said, I am thrilled THE COLLECTION was able to support our community in such a HUGE manner. I look forward to participating in next year’s gala where, as always, we plan on raising the philanthropic bar.
