Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade hosted its 47th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of “Bebe” Rebozo on March 24 in coordination with THE COLLECTION Audi, raising more than $125,000 for the Clubs’ programs.
The wonderful afternoon took place at the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club, which is home to an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. Located in the lush, private Coral Gables gated community and secluded from the area’s urban setting, this par 71 course is a golfer’s oasis with protected mangroves, exquisite wildlife and scenic waterways.
Participants not only enjoyed a memorable golf experience, but also had the rewarding experience of raising funds for the Clubs’ youth development programs, which focus on fostering skills in computer education, cultural arts, homework and educational assistance, and social life competencies, as well as sports and recreation.
Sponsored by THE COLLECTION Audi since 2011, the 47th Annual Golf Classic gave players the option to simply play for fun or to compete in the 2014 Audi quattro Cup.
As part of the largest amateur golf tournament in the world, the American Audi quattro Cup tournaments hosts over 6,000 golfers across the country vying for a chance to advance to the U.S. Final held Aug. 21-24 at Pebble Beach Resorts in California. Since 1919, golfers have relished this spectacular oceanside course, considered the greatest public golf course in America.
From there, two teams will embark on an epic adventure to Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, one of the world’s most prestigious residential golf developments, as representatives of Audi of America at the World Final.
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Annual Golf Classic, golfers participated in activities and games throughout the day, such as smoking hand rolled Cuban cigars and indulging in on-course chicken wings and liquor shots provided by Hooters of Coral Way.
After a hard day on the greens, guests de-stressed with a relaxing chair massage.
The 5:30 p.m. awards banquet and ceremony featured a delicious buffet style dinner and cocktails, while the Marlins dance team showed off their moves.
There was also a raffle and silent auction on an array of great items including vacation stays, weekend loans on select Audi models and sports memorabilia.
