NEW CARS AT THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

The New York Auto Show is in full force and I’ve been lucky enough to see some of the fastest, lightest and most advanced new cars coming out first-hand.

What are my top picks at the show? See them below. From Jaguar, to Porsche, to McLaren, these brands have added some major wow-factor in the Big Apple.

JAGUAR XF:

The sleek all-new Jaguar XF stays true to the goal of Jaguar – the new XF is a luxury sedan. By adding additional aluminum to the car, the XF is lightened by up to 265 pounds. The second generation of the car, which was shown in London last week with a high-wire journey across Canary Wharf, also gets a new supercharged V6 engine with 340 horsepower and 380 horsepower ratings. An updated suspension is designed to give the XF a more comfortable ride, but with better handling than the current model. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, it can go from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds and boasts a top speed that is electronically limited to 155 mph. Making technological advances, Jaguar announced that the XF will include a variety of systems designed to improve traction, emergency braking, lane departure warning and a speed limiter. Making even further improvements, the XF features technology that will wake a drowsy driver, interpret road signs and help the car maneuver itself into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. PORSCHE BOXSTER SPYDER:

The lightest, simplest and fastest Boxster yet. With the roar of the 3.8-liter, 375 horsepower flat six engine, Porsche is introducing an open-top version of its latest Boxster model at the New York Auto Show. According to Porsche, the Spyder is the fastest and most powerful Boxster ever. The sports car, with a wide use of aluminum to make it lighter, can go from zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds, beating the 4.7 seconds of the Boxster GTS, which is currently at the top of the Boxster lineup. The sculpted mid-engine two-seat Spyder also has a top speed of 180 miles per hour. More details are sure to arise about the fast, featherweight Boxster Spyder. As for now, feast your eyes on the newest Porsche creation.

McLAREN 570S:

McLaren has pushed the boundaries once more with the new McLaren Sports Series and the first model included in it – the McLaren 570S. The 570S, McLaren’s first everyday driver, that merges racing technology with day-to-day driving is built to perform like no other sports car, and to put its driver at the heart of the dynamic experience. The mid-engine, rear-drive 570S has a carbon fiber chassis and a 562 horsepower, 3.8-liter turbocharged V8. The excitement doesn’t stop there. The 570S can travel from zero to 62 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 204 mph. The 570S also boasts an extensive range of additional performance equipment including carbon ceramic brakes and track-biased Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires to help deliver a scintillating driving performance. With an MSRP of around $185,000, this is the most attainable McLaren street car ever built and will surely be a huge success in Miami.
