Ken Gorin and Andy Murray at THE COLLECTION

Andy Murray and Ken Gorin

THE COLLECTION sponsored the Sony Open Tennis this past March where Ken Gorin had first met Andy Murray.

Currently ranked number two in the tennis world, Andy Murray is the quintessential British gentleman. And I know first hand as THE COLLECTION sponsored the Sony Open Tennis this past March and I personally met the tennis prodigy — who happened to placed first in the Key Biscayne-based tournament.

THE COLLECTION loaned the first-place pro with a white Porsche Panamera. When it came time to turn in the keys to his sedan, Andy visited our showroom and toured the space a — an extremely kind gesture coming from an extremely busy athlete if I do say myself!

For those you unfamiliar with Andy, his story is an interesting one. From winning his first tournament as an under-10 junior at the Dunblane Sports Club to his first junior major at the US Open, it became apparent Andy was destined for the top.

After turning pro in 2005, Andy won his first ATP title, the SAP open in San Jose, a year later. Fast forward two years and seven more tour titles, Andy reached his first grand slam final, the 2008 US Open. However in 2012, having lost in three subsequent grand slam final appearances, Andy became the US Open Champion. This was hot on the heels of a memorable Gold Medal victory at Wimbledon during the London 2012 Olympics. Currently on 27 career titles, Andy is Great Britain’s most successful tennis player of the Open era and his grand slam title ended Great Britain’s 76-year wait for a male grand slam champion.

We here at THE COLLECTION are honored to be a part of his illustrious success.
