Aston Martin Racing claim 24 Hours of Le Mans Victory

Victory was in the air for Aston Martin Racing as they took home the WIN at the 85th 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday, June 18, 2017.

The 24 hour race took place in Le Mans, France, while THE COLLECTION Aston Martin showcased the event in our showroom and had everyone cheering up until the last second. It was a nail-biting experience as I watched the race with just over 45 minutes left on the clock. Jonny Adam partnered by Darren Turner, Daniel Serra and their Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE which performed faultlessly to ensure they remained in the lead for victory right until the very end.

Adam found himself battling at the same time as the #63 Corvette for a final fuel stop. With both cars exiting the pit lane together – with Adam in second – it was inevitable that he would have to make the pass while on track. After trading places with his rival for much of the final stint, Adam prevailed and overtook the #63 Corvette as he crossed the start/finish line on the second-to-last lap. With his rival running wide at the second Mulsanne corner under pressure from the Scot, a slow puncture halted their progress and ensured the victory.
